Who can join?
You must be a U.S. citizen, at least 17 years old, and pass
a basic background check. There is no upper age limit or height/weight
standards, although for operational activities (such as crew member on a boat), you must be physically able to
perform certain tasks. There are no minimum service hours – you can serve as
little or as much as you want.
Why should I join?
If you are looking for some adventure, and for a way to serve
you community and country, consider joining the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. Whatever your interests or life skills, chances are the Coast Guard Auxiliary can offer you an area to serve that will enrich
your life.
Plus, the Auxiliary offers a unique opportunity to make a difference in your local community and across the country.
